Leading crypto exchange holds investigation seminar with Taiwan High Prosecutors Office

Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world, announced that it has expanded its partnership with the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office and recently held a training session on best practices for deterring and combating digital asset-related crimes. During the event, Binance team members presented the latest trends in digital assets to more than 50 law enforcement officials and discussed techniques for tackling crimes.

According to a blog post, Binance will now hold training sessions for more than ten prosecutors' offices throughout Taiwan. The goal is to provide law enforcement with up-to-date knowledge that will enhance their ability to fight crime. The exchange has already held training sessions for the Taipei, Shilin, Miaoli, Taichung, and Tainan district prosecutor's offices with support from the High Prosecutors Office.

"At Binance, we firmly believe that close collaboration between industry players and law enforcement agencies is essential for preventing and addressing cybercrime, including combating fraud. We are delighted to interact with prosecutors from all over Taiwan with the support of the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office and jointly safeguard user assets. In addition to participating in public consultation, Binance's commitment to protecting users is also instrumental in helping Taiwan build a safer virtual asset ecosystem," said Damien Ho, a member of Binance's Global Partnerships Team.

Earlier this year, according to a Binance blog post,Binance led a one-day training program for Taiwan’s Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB). The training included sharing information on crime trends and investigation techniques. More than 200 CIB personnel joined the training, both in-person and online, which was led by Binance’s Law Enforcement Training and Investigation team. This training was part of Binance’s Global Law Enforcement Training Program, through which the exchange held more than 50 training sessions in the first five months of 2023.

According to its blog post, Binance said it has responded to and assisted with more than 103,000 law enforcement requests over the past three years.
