Binance TR, the leading crypto asset service provider in Turkey, has been awarded the ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications. The certifications are for information security governance and privacy information management, echoing regulatory milestones that Binance achieved in France, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates earlier this year.
The certifications were granted by BSI, an independent multinational organization that has been shaping best practices for more than 100 years. BSI gave Binance TR the certifications after evaluating the security and privacy domains of the platform, said Binance in a blog post.
"Attainment of the two internationally recognized certifications demonstrates our high standards in information security and privacy information", said Mucahit Donmez, general manager of Binance TR. Donmez added his hope that users would "feel more assured knowing that their assets and information are protected in line with the most updated global standards.”
Binance explained in its post that as part of the certifications process, Binance TR will participate in annual surveillance audits to ensure compliance with certain security and privacy standards. "In an industry as nascent and fast-evolving as blockchain, adherence to well-established industry standards and regulations will help the blockchain ecosystem build trust and reliability with the broader global community," they said.
Established in 2020 exclusively for Turkey, Binance TR operates according to Turkish regulations and complies with standards laid out by MASAK, a Turkish financial intelligence unit.
