Zwiesel Glas recently signed a merger agreement with Fortessa Tableware Solutions to make significant advances in the tableware industry, according to a press release.
“For Zwiesel Glas and Fortessa Tableware Solutions, the merger is a logical next step in their partnership,” Dr. Andreas Buske, CEO of Zwiesel Glas, said. “We share a strong vision for our future: We want to be the worldwide brands for all moments that make life special. Through the merger, around 900 people will work in the future to turn this vision into a reality."
Based in Bavaria and Virginia, the two businesses have joined forces to reach the common goal of improving dining experiences for clients worldwide.
Both parties will continue overseeing its operations independently, with Buske serving as a member of the management board of Zwiesel Glas and as chairman of the supervisory board of Fortessa.
Scott Hamberger will remain overseeing Fortessa as CEO and will soon become deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Zwiesel Glas.
“Jointly, both partners are doing their part to secure their global positioning as the go-to brands for glass and tableware that elevate everyday experiences,” a recent press release states.
This project is an extension of a previously established collaboration between Zwiesel Glas and Fortessa Tableware Solutions, which previously steered the launch of Zwiesel’s United Tables “to bring their comprehensive tabletop offering to the commercial foodservice market in Europe and the Middle East.”
"That aside from the shared vision, the partnership brings promising economic opportunities. This is even more important in such challenging times as these,” Fortessa's CEO, Scott Hamberger, said. “Together we can offer our customers, our companies, our brands and all the people who we work with strength and security into the future."
Zwiesel Glas has specialized in crystal glassware production and served upscale hotels and lifestyle retailers for 150 years. Its expertise resembles Fortessa’s, whose products have now reached 80% of total North American 4–5 star hotels, and across numerous retail and digital locations.
