Brazilian plant-based meat maker Future Farm's products have made their way to the U.S. The items are now accessible through Amazon Fresh and at Sprouts Farmers Market, Food Dive reported.
“We’re excited to make our vision of a world where people choose to eat more plants, not animals, accessible to more and more people across the United States, and working with these retailers is part of our plan for consistent growth and expansion,” CEO Alexandre Ruberti said in a statement. “We know the customers at Amazon Fresh and Sprouts are aligned with our brand values — sustainable and 100% clean label products. We are delighted to invite them to change the way the world eats.”
The launch will kick off in two Southern California-based location stores. The company initially introduced its Future Burger, Future Beef and Future Sausage to the U.S. last July as it secured e-commerce opportunities at GTFO It’s Vegan, Vejii and Hungry Harvest.
The brand first kicked off in the U.S. Ruberti confirmed that the company’s long-term goal is to promote plant-based food. While it pursues increased consumer results, it also hopes to maintain prices at a cost-effective rate. It projects that 65% of its total global sales will come from the United States. The expansion also follows the closing of a $58 million funding round made on Future Farm’s behalf.
The expansion is a continuation of Future Farm’s effort to expand in the U.S., following restaurant launches in Los Angeles. According to a recent Vegnews reports, the company also plans to launch restaurants in New York this fall. Next spring, it also plans to execute its partnership with Brazilian pop singer Anitta.
Its brand, whose name is also known as the Portuguese translation, Fazenda Futuro, has also made its way to 30 countries, including Sweden and Chile, Latin American Business Stories reports.
Other expansion efforts confirmed by the company include the launch of Future Chick’n and Future Tuna in the U.S, and its plant-based drinks and dairy in North America and European markets, among others.
