Standard Chartered Bank recently appointed Theodore Sheen as head of Clean Tech, Americas, a press release stated.

“I am delighted that Theodore has joined us, and I look forward to working with him to drive our sustainability strategy and support our clients’ net zero goals,” CEO and regional head of Client Coverage, Americas, Steven Cranwell, said. “With a strong presence across Asia, Africa and the Middle East, we are uniquely positioned to deliver sustainable finance solutions by unlocking capital to enable markets that need it the most.”

Under his new role, Sheen, based in New York, will be responsible for leading various energy transition section markets, including renewables, batteries and green hydrogen. Part of his duties include identifying investment opportunities between the Americas and other regions, including Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Serving as the bank’s most recent executive addition, Sheen's role is intended to edify the global Clean Tech franchise. He will soon report to Clean Tech’s global director, Sujay Shah on a local base, and Cranwell on a global base.

“It is exciting to join an organization with such a strong commitment to sustainability,” Sheen said. “I look forward to partnering with colleagues across the bank’s network and delivering the solutions our clients need to support the next stage of our franchise’s development.”

Before being introduced to his role at Standard Chartered, the Columbia Business School graduate served a 15-year tenure as BNP Paribas’ senior banker.
