Impossible Foods has recently launched two new plant-based products in the U.K; the “Chicken” Nuggets™ and Impossible Sausage Patties. Both items became available on May 19, a press release reported.

“The UK has a unique and unrivaled chicken shop culture that we’re confident our nuggets will compete in because first and foremost they taste better, and they’re also better for you and better for the planet,” CEO of Impossible Foods, Peter McGuinness, said in the release. "And there’s more to come — later this year we’ll be expanding to supermarkets and rolling out additional products. We can’t wait for our friends and fans in the UK to finally taste our products.”

The products will launch across more than 300 locations this month. More than 250 Greene King-owned Hungry Horse Pubs will offer them. The company plans to release its full slate of products containing heme, also known as soy leghemoglobin, in the country at a later date.

“The country’s very first Impossible™ dishes will appear exclusively on the menus of select restaurants and chicken shops, including Chicken Cottage, Halo Burger, Le Bab, MEATliquor, Patty&Bun and others,” the press release states.

Based in California, the plant-based meat company now celebrates the fourth market launch in a span of nine months, including successful launches in Australia, New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates, all of which were completed last fall.

Data findings conclude that the Impossible “Chicken” Nuggets are favored 2-1 by UK consumers. The items first launched in the U.S. and later made its international debut.

“At Hungry Horse, we’re big on getting together, and our customers come to us for the generous and unique food creations in a ‘home away from home’ environment,” said Robert Calderbank, business unit director for Hungry Horse. “We’re so excited to bring the Impossible ‘Chicken’ Nuggets to our pubs and really believe these will deliver on that promise, tantalizing the taste buds of our customers across the country, we can’t wait!”
