The nonprofit group America First Works (AWF) has released a new video, which it says highlights J.P. Morgan's apparent hypocrisy when it comes to its relationship with China.

AFW said that J.P. Morgan is happy to criticize political action and actors in the United States, but it toes the line when it comes to the Chinese Communist Party's human rights abuses, COVID lockdown policies and supply chain concerns.

"When will corporations like J.P. Morgan act against the Chinese Communist Party’s abuses?" AFW asked in a news release.

America First Works announced the release of a new video May 3, which it says highlights J.P. Morgan's "all-in approach"—CEO Jamie Dimon's own words—to China. The video criticizes the investment giant for having an outspoken approach to American politics while it maintains silence over the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) abuse of Uyghur minorities, massive COVID lockdowns and supply chain failures.

The press release said there have been warnings from the International Monetary Fund and Jim Cramer, a CNBC commentator, regarding China's lockdowns and their impact on the global economy, but J.P. Morgan has not offered any similar admonition.

AFW also noted several reports from news outlets like BuzzFeed and NBC News about the CCP's mistreatment of Uyghur Muslims.

In April 2022, Bloomberg reported that despite setbacks and growing concern about economic growth, J.P. Morgan was one of several banks "seeking to expand in China."

America First Works is a 501(c)4 organization. According to its website, it fights to support and enact "the policies that put jobs first, opportunity first, security first, freedom first, innovation first."
