P97 has entered a partnership with Viva Energy Australia to launch the custom mobile app, Shell Card Go, a press release reported.

“We are honored to have the privilege of working with Viva Energy,” P97 Networks’ Brad Jones said in a press release. “By giving drivers and fleet managers the flexibility and ease of mobile payments, Viva Energy will set the new standard for the Australian fuel and convenience retail industry.”

Considered a top energy company in Australia, Viva Energy supplies approximately 25% of Australia's fuel agreement, as well as Shell fuels and lubricants.

The business fuel card facilitates transactions for fleet drivers, offering digital payment solutions at any of the 1,330 service stations across the region, which include Shell, Liberty Convenience and Coles Express. Some of the features offered by the app include station locators, site details, reward possibilities and transaction records, among others, according to the press release.

“We believe the Shell Card Go app will not only make fuel payments more convenient for fleet managers and drivers, but also create seamless and secure experiences,” Head of Shell Card at Viva Energy Ash Harris said in the release.  “We chose to work with P97 Networks because they are a market leader and recognized for their ability to process mobile payments, integrate their technology into complex POS systems and influence driver behavior.”

The launch is an addition to P97’s long list of mobility services platform projects. According to the Houston-based mobile commerce platform specializing in fuel and convenience retail/ automotive services, it has contributed its solutions into five leading point of sale systems belonging to Viva Energy’s retail network, including NCR POS, QuickFuel POS, Beacon POS and EdgePOS, as well as Viva Energy’s outdoor payment terminals.

The company also integrated its technology into Viva Energy’s Card Management Platform and Fiserv, who authorizes payments for the Shell Fleet Card.

“As a leading Australian energy company, Viva Energy aims to provide fleet managers and drivers easy access to fuel stations and contactless payments,” Harris said in the release.
