Boston Consulting Group (BCG) recently opened a new business service center in Costa Rica.

"The addition of BCG Nexus Costa Rica highlights the tremendous growth story of BCG as we continue to invest in our people and enhance the critical services to support our growing business," BCG's North America COO Brian Gross said in a press release.

The new establishment, “Nexus,” based at Ultrapark, will prioritize the growth of the company’s international presence by strengthening existing internal and client operations.

According to a press release, the management consulting firm’s office will also serve as a space for team members specializing in administrative and executive support, data research services, design studios and agile IT, to work together and seek additional support from other BCG staff and consultants worldwide.

It is expected to produce more than 400 jobs in a span of two years, adding onto BCG’s 70 contract employees in the country. With many more appointments planned for the near future, the expansion will contribute significantly to the local market’s growth plans for the next decade, a press release reported.

The expansion idea derived from suddenly accelerated demands in prominent cities across the globe, such as Atlanta, Delhi and Madrid, among others.

"The announcement of the opening of the Boston Consulting Group company in Costa Rica highlights the dynamic growth experienced by the services sector, and the favorable platform we offer to do so successfully,” Andrés Valenciano, minister of Foreign Trade, said in a press release. “Future collaborators will have the opportunity to face and attract solutions to a wide range of clients to create sustainable competitive advantages and with positive impacts in different areas of specialization. We appreciate not only the vote of confidence in our country, but also in our human talent, which has proven to be the key element in attracting foreign direct investment.”

Managing director of CINDE Jorge Sequeira hopes to continue the growth of the knowledge-intensive service, valued at $6,412 billion in 2021, with an 8.4% Y-O-Y growth.

"Having a company with the global prestige of BCG is a vote of confidence in the ability of Costa Rican talent to serve complex processes in business analytics that lead to strategies, business models and key knowledge for its global clients,” Sequeira said.
