Square recently entered a partnership with CodeBase to make its payment and API systems accessible to entrepreneurs based in the region.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with CodeBase, Scotland’s biggest tech start-up incubator, to provide entrepreneurs with preferential access to Square’s APIs and payment ecosystem,” Square developer product marketing manager, Ginevra Mambretti, said. “This is a first of its kind partnership in the UK and we are excited to see what’s born from the merging of Square’s tools and CodeBase’s network of innovation.”

According to a recent press release, the large European technology start-up company will help Square distribute access to the company’s tools, including its dashboard, documentation, technical reference and API Explorer for developers in the region.

"It's very exciting for us to be partnering with Square,” CEO of CodeBase Stephen Coleman said. "As the start-ups in our community grow and scale, it’s important for us to work with partners whose offerings can support companies on their business journey. Square’s rich set of APIs and SDKs will open up new opportunities for developers in our community, and we look forward to seeing the results.”

Square will offer a slate of workshops to assist business owners with their commerce and payment systems. The California-based financial agency specializes in card payments, inventory and other eCommerce solutions services. Other features available on the platform include security, fraud prevention support and a department that handles charge disputes, a press release stated.

The cost-effective system will help clients process and accept payments, as well as a direct support line used by Square’s customer service team to help users navigate through the platform. Its free APIs and SDKs do not require a contract or extra fees. Customers’ funds will be available the next business day for a small transaction fee.
