Rep. Rick Larsen (D-WA) held a conference Feb. 9 to discuss current U.S.-China negotiations and the effects of trade friction between the two countries.

Larsen held the conference virtually alongside National Committee on U.S. China Relations (NCUSCR) President, Steve Orlins, according to the NCUSCR website.

"This event is part of the National Committee’s new China on the Hill (COTH) speaker series, a set of public events featuring U.S. policymakers from both sides of the aisle discussing the latest developments in D.C.’s (The District of Columbia’s) ongoing policy debate on issues relating to China," a post on the website stated.

Larsen discussed a proposal submitted to Congress and the Biden administration, which analyzes points of bilateral conflict and competition, and discusses measures to deal with conflicts with China, according to a release from Larsen’s office.

"Accompanying the speaker series, the National Committee has also begun publishing a weekly COTH e-newsletter covering a similar set of issues,” the site stated.

Larsen is the co-founder and co-chair of the bipartisan U.S.-China Working Group and is calling for the Biden administration to strengthen policies toward China to ensure America's position as a global leader, according to a paper written by the congressman.
