Adams Street Partners, a private markets investment firm, recently announced the closing of its 2021 Global Fund Program, which generated approximately $832 million in committed capital, according to a press release from Business Wire.
The program's success was attributed primarily to investors' exposure to a broad private markets' portfolio, which included all of Adams Street's investing strategies, including primary and secondary markets, co-investments, growth equity, and private credit.
“Investors worldwide are increasingly attracted to private market investment solutions that are data-driven and have the ability to produce attractive risk-adjusted returns,” Jeff Diehl, managing partner and head of investments at Adams Street said. “We are grateful for the confidence our investors have placed in us and the Adams Street Global Fund to help meet their return objectives while seeking to successfully navigate risks.”
Worldwide demand for the program was high, with pledges from new and current investors in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Additionally, a wide range of public and corporate pension plans, high-net-worth individuals, foundations and endowments offered their support.
Since 1996, the firm's global program has been managed regularly using rigorous risk management and portfolio creation methodologies.
"As the private markets industry grows increasingly complex, teamwork and information sharing across strategies has never been so important," the company stated on its website. "We believe collaboration is key to ensuring long-term, sustainable investment success, and we embrace this across every area of our business."
Adams Street Partners has assets spanning five continents in over 30 countries. The company has offices in major cities including Boston, Beijing, Chicago, New York and Tokyo.
The firm, which is entirely employee-owned and manages over $49 billion in assets, aims to generate actionable investing insights throughout market cycles by using almost 50 years of private markets expertise, proprietary intelligence, and connections.
