After nearly two years of travel restrictions due to COVID-19, travelers from the U.K. leapt at the chance to make reservations at Sin City hotels after the White House announced it would lessen restrictions on overseas visitors.

Wynn Resorts CEO Matthew Maddox told CNBC he saw a sudden and huge demand from British travelers for rooms at his resort.

“Just this week when it was announced you can come to the U.S. if you’re vaccinated, we had reservations from the U.K. spike from effectively zero to hundreds a day,” Maddox said during an interview with Jim Cramer on “Mad Money.” “People are wanting to come to Las Vegas and have a good time.”

During the onslaught of the global health crises back in March of 2020, then-President Donald Trump initiated wide-ranging travel restrictions in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus, according the CNBC.

CNBC reported that Wynn's booming domestic operations will only continue to flourish now that international travelers will be brought back into the mix.

The Biden administration's travel changes are expected to go into effect in November, according to CNBC. Travelers will need proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within three days of departure for the United States.
