The U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Office of International Trade will host a webinar on Thursday, Sept. 9, at 1 p.m. regarding the State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) grant.
The STEP program assists small businesses in the U.S in learning how to export, engage in foreign trade missions and establish international marketing campaigns. Debra Dudley, a small business owner in Kentucky who has benefited from the STEP program, lauded the program for its contribution to her business’ success.
“We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for others passionate about helping small businesses," Dudley is quoted in an SBA article. "Sometimes you need to ask for help. The resources are out there.”
Dudley urged other prospective small business exporters to make use of the STEP program's services.
"Call until you find the assistance you need," Dudley stated. "The struggles are worth it and make you stronger and you can create a lot of good memories in the process.”
Isabella Casillas Guzman, the SBA's new administrator who began in March, told CNBC that businesses still have opportunities to obtain the assistance they require to fully recover from the COVID-19 crisis.
“The Small Business Administration is here with a host of services for both startups, innovative technology, science-based startups, as well as small businesses from Main Street to manufacturing, with core programs around capital-market access and networks to build your team,” Guzman said.
The webinar will conclude with a Q&A session. Individuals interested in participating in the webinar may register at Eventbrite.
